osuchic81: Back to Phase 1 of SBD

After going through South Beach's phase 1 and transitioning to Phase 2, I decided to go back on Phase 1. I lost a total of 10 lbs, went off the diet for a few weeks (due to an incredible amount of stress in grad school) I gained about 3-5lbs back. Now I am back to my college campus so I decided to re-do my phase 1. I need to get that motivation back.

I have free use of our Rec center, they have tons of eliptical machines, treadmills, weights, etc. I went today and did the eliptical and swam for about 50 minutes total. I feel incredibly motivated and I just thought I would share I am going back! Here I go!!! My plan for attack is just to eat the phase 1 foods again and work out 4-5 days a week. I hope I can get those results back. I am about 15lbs away from my goal so I hope so.

emort: just about dead

So yesterday the diet just about killed me. I felt hungry most of the day, and just had these awful cravings. I really didnt think that it was going to be this bad, but I got through the day WITHOUT CHEATING and it felt good. This morning I feel a little weak but I am going to eat some breakfast so that should help. I have already lost 2 pounds so that definatly keeps me modivated! 2 pounds doesnt seem like a lot, but that is only one day. This makes me excited! Today [Unknown LJ tag] is going to come over and she is going to show me what she got at costco and then maybe out to a healthy lunch. It is good to have someone to help ya out! anyway better get going. she should be here soon!

emort: a new start

so i am going to start documenting in this journal again to help me get through the first two weeks of this diet. it is going to be rough, and I know that but it will be nice to have a journal/community to vent to. osuchic81 and I start the south beach diet today. So far so good. Here is what I have eaten:

Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs, and 2 pieces of turkey bacon
Morning snack: low fat string cheese

Here is what I have planned for the rest of the day:

Lunch: Grilled chicken breast, steamed califlower and broccoli, sugar free jello and a V8.

Dinner: not sure yet. Probably a grilled chicken salad or I am going to talk to osuchic81 and see if she has any good ideas.

Dessert: sugar free popsicle

this diet says that you should ALWAYS have dessert because that will help with the after dinner snacking which is the WORST for you. I really really hope I can do this because osuchic81's aunt had great results in the first two weeks. Even 10 pounds in two weeks would be awsome! Anyway I have the book and I read it on the shuttle just to modivate me and get me moving. Anyway better get back to work. Bye all!

So I am getting back on the bandwagon! Brian and I just moved in to the new apartments with a great workout facility that is open 24 hours so today is the day we are going to start exercising together. We are hoping to do it at least 3 times a week and since it is right by our apartment it will be easier and less commute time. Even though I have not stopped eating better, I am going to start exercising again sine the weigh in is next month. How is everyone else doing?

Well its been a long time since I posted here. How is everyone doing???

Its been hard to be motivated to go to Ballys. The facility at mall 205 sucks and we havent really been going to the group work outs anymore (something I do miss)

In the meantime I have been walking around my neighborhood with my mom, working out on the ellipticals at ballys, working out on my elliptical and also my mom just bought a bowflex. She got it at an estate sale for pretty cheap and it is definately the deluxe version. Im gonna study the tape and learn all th emoves so i can be sure to do them properly. Anyway this comp is being a butt so Im gonna run.. ttyl hope to hear from you all!

hehe this is kinda funny, but this morning my mom came over and while she was over she said...you have lost weight...referring to my tummy....and I thought I had because it feels like I totally went down a size in my pants...they are now really big on me.
Even though I havent been true to filling out my journal...I have been trying to watch what I eat every now and then and get some cardio in.

As part of my efforts to get back on track...I went to the gym last night and did the tredmill for over an hour...it was nice and I was able to feel good and energized afterwards.
Then I came home and watched American Idol....I am so excited for tonight!!
And I think I may try to go to the gym friday since chris has the day off....anyways I need to get by the grocery store to pick up some good healthy food!!!!! i can totally noticed how loose my pants fit now and how my tummy doesnt seem so flabby but toned...so this is a step to my goal which I am feeling very good about despite my recent slurges.
I have also been drinking a lot of water....well since I have been on the rag...which sucks. But I am doing well! just not up to date in my journal:( oh well

so last night was a good work out. I did the bike for 20 minutes, the rower for 15 minutes, the stair stepper for 10 minutes, 100 sit ups, and some stretching too. I felt good after but not sore so that was a good thing. Tonight is the Powerflex class with ouchic81 and maybe bigred2k so that should be fun. Wednesday I am going to do my work out I did last night. I think from now on I will just go to the gym monday-thursday since I feel lazy on the weekends and never go. I might go some Saturdays if I feel the need (since it is less busy then). Hope everyone else is doing well. I would love to hear from you.

What is your modivation?

Health is a big motivation because alot of weight related illnesses run in my family. ALso I think the way I feel working out is a motivation. I feel more energetic and its a big stress relief. I have so much going on in my life right now that its my way to escape!

What is your goal?

To be toned and fit. Id like to lose prolly around 30lbs but that is the smallest issue... Id rather be the size I want and Im starting to fit that size so I guess Im getting there!!!

What person modivates you the most?

Id have to say emort and bigred2k just by the fact they go to the gym with me and do some of the classes. Just knowing someone else is going is an added motivator. PLus my stalker is a motivator *wink, Wink!!!* LOL

How much have you lost so far?

5lbs but I havent done the measuring part. Im gonna measure and weigh myself on Thursdays now (before I was doign sundays but it just makes more sense to do it the last day that I work out.

What is your favorite type of exercise?

Classes are nice because they encorporate all major muscle groups and have that aerobic plus toning in one. I really am enjoying powerflex. I also like the spinning class, hip hop was fun and I want to try that Kwando class. Its just fun to have that social aspect as well.

What is your least favorite type of exercise?

The step class cuz I thought the instructor was a bitch and pretty much made u feel like a stupid idiot if you were new. Its one thing to have to get used to a class and a whole nother thing when they make you feel like crap.

What is your favorite healthy meal/snack

Rice, chicken, broccoli and teriyaki sauce. Mmmmmmmm

What is your favorite unhealthy meal/snack?

MC Donalds fries or a Strawberry shake from Burgerville (when in season)

Are you on any special diet?

No, Im pretty much eating whatever I want (within reason) and the working out aspect is enough to help me lose some weight!

So I thought since there is not a lot of  posting going on in this community I came up with a survey about your health.  Please fill it out cause it would be great to get to know everyone's goals.


What is your modivation?

I think my greatest modivation is health.  I really want to start a family and I know that I would not be able to carry a baby to full term in the health I am in now.  I would really like to be medication free before starting to try and get pregnant

What is your goal?

My ultamate goal is to loose 100 pounds from my starting weight.  My other goal is to be medicine and diabetic free for a lifetime.  Of course I would be lying if I didn't tell you I wanted to look damn good in a fancy dress too!

What person modivates you the most?

I would have to say Brian and osuchic81 because those are the two that are pushing me to go to the gym when I don't want to and telling me how good I look since I have lost some weight.  That is good modivation for me!

How much have you lost so far?

I have lost 10 pounds and about 2 inches off my waist.  It is not a lot, but for 3 weeks that is pretty good.

What is your favorite type of exercise?

I think my favorite would have to be the powerflex class.  I really like the structured types of classes because then it puts all the guess work out of what you can and should be doing.

What is your least favorite type of exercise?

I think so far that would have to be the Spinning class not that it didn't kick my ass, but that I was not really able to keep up and felt like I was wasting people's time.  Maybe once I loose some more weight it might be easier.  And it hurts your ASS!

What is your favorite healthy meal/snack?

I think my favorite healthy meal would be a grilled chicken breast (on the George Foreman grill), mashed potatoes, and steamed broccoli and califlower.

What is your favorite unhealthy meal/snack?

Probably a Big Mac and fries from McDonalds.  It has been really hard for me not to make that trip on my way home since I drive right by it.

Are you on any special diet?

Right now I am on Weight Watchers and it seems to be going pretty well.

Any other information you would like to share?

Nope I dont think so.  I am just looking forward to hearing everyone's answers to the survey questions.
